Internal Family Systems (IFS) is a type of psychotherapy that focuses on understanding and healing the different "parts" of a person’s psyche. It was developed by Dr. Richard Schwartz in the 1980s.
IFS is based on the belief that the mind is made up of distinct subpersonalities or "parts," each with its own thoughts, feelings, and behaviors.
